Ex physical education professor and NCC ANO of Murgaon Education Society (MES) HSS, James Christopher was conferred with the honorary rank of Major in a ceremony held at 1 Goa Battalion NCC  office in Panaji.

The rank was awarded by Group Commander Col. K.V. Srinivas in presence of NCC ANOs of various institutions and PI staff.

Professor Christopher is the first NCC ANO who has been honored with the rank of Major, post his retirement. Under the guidance of Major Christopher, the NCC cadets of MES College have won various competitions organised in NCC camps. The college has also been a multi-time winner of Best Institution Rolling Trophy of NCC Army wing’s Annual Training Camp. During his tenure as the ANO, the NCC cadets of MES also represented Goa and participated in Republic Day Camp and Parrade.
