PROSTITUTION RACKET BUSTED BY PUNE POLICE

PUNE: Officials from the social security cell of Pune city police have nabbed four persons for allegedly running prostitution racket from a lodge in Sinhgad Road area and rescued four women from their clutches.

The police had raided the Nikhil Garden lodge near Navle bridge on Pune-Bangalore highway on Friday at around 7 pm. The rescued women have been kept at a shelter home.

The arrested accused have been identified as manager Sandip Sundar Shetty (32), Raju Anand Shetty (30), Bhagwat Pundalik Gite (40) and waiter Dnyaneshwar Sadashiv Bandal (24).

Assistant police inspector Chandrakant Jadhav from the Crime Branch has lodged a FIR against them with Sinhgad Road police station.

Police are now searching for the absconding accused Sadanand Shetty, Rafiq and Jagdish Basu Pujari.

All the accused persons have been charged for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
