PUNE POLICE BOOKS FOUR UNDER STRINGENT MCOCA

Pune – The Pune Police booked four under MCOCA, they all are involved in various offences.

The city police have invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against four members of Shahbaz Mukhtar Shaikh gang. They are suspected to be involved in about 10 cases of robbery and body offence.

According to police, since 2014 the gang members have been terrorising local residents and have engaged in robbery, assault and thefts. Earlier this year Shaikh was externement but there was no change in his behaviour. In the last six months, city police have invoked MCOCA against 10 gangs to reign in their terror and activities.

Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi and Police Inspector (crime) Sambhaji Shirke of Khadak police station had submitted a proposal as there was no change in behaviour of the gang members even after externment order. Accordingly, additional commissioner of police (south region) Ravindra Sengaonkar approved MCOCA against Shaikh and his gang members Ajay alias Batlya Santosh Kamble, Rahul alias Guruji Ganesh Netke, both residents of Kasewadi and Yogesh Maruti Gaikwad of Bhawani Peth.
