Bambolim (Goa): Goa government will undertaken major renovation of Goa medical college and hospital (GMCH) with around 22 wards being undertaken for repairs.
“We have started the process to identify the wards so that we can carry out their renovation. We will be renovating approximately 22 wards over the period of 18 months,” State health minister Vishwajit Rane said after visiting GMCH
He said the space would be created immediately so that the patients can be shifted to another ward during the time of renovation. State run Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation has been assigned the work to renovate the wards which will be taken up on war footing, Rane said.
Rane also said that the first fleet of eight ambulances with advanced equipments would be commissioned on June 10 as a part of state government’s 108 ambulance project.
The minister said that two-wheeler ambulances will also be pressed in service in the first week of July.
