We, people, have so many picks when it comes to spending our holidays with a unique and different set of destination. Even some of us prone to go for more beach sides or hill station. It’s not very common to see us going for a vacation in some religious part. So, why not plan our visiting places plan with a different perceptive? Where you can get not beaches and rivers but beautiful sites of temples which is only in Bangkok. In Bangkok, there’s one of the oldest, largest and most revered temple complexes located known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho) which undoubtedly is a must-visit for all around the world visitors to the capital of Thai. The main and most attraction is the statue itself seated in the temple complex, which is covered with the gold-leaf reclining Buddha but beware, don’t let it diverts your attention from other beautiful sights as you will get to see its 95 pagodas, carved narrative panels, and the main altar which is absolutely rich to look at. Wat Pho grounds which is spread with two walled compounds and divided by Soi Chetuphon. The reclining Buddha along with famous Thai massage school could be found on the northern side. Meanwhile, the temple’s community life facilities are located in the southern part. For tourists, the easiest way is to reach by boat where they can take the Chao Phraya River Express to the Tha Thien pier. The Buddha temple could be located next to the Grand Palace and behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew).

The golden Buddha statue is the largest in Thailand, which is really gigantic as measured by 151 feet (46 m) long and 50 feet (15 m) tall. The feet of Buddha alone is 16 feet (5m) tall, which are both exquisitely adorned and added with mother-of-pearl. Where you would be amazed to find how intriguing is to walk the whole length of the statue, even you have to explore the whole temple compound if you don’t want to miss on the other sights, as the whole place is full of artwork and images of Buddha himself. Even its get better, as it being the oldest temple in Bangkok, it is also the main center of traditional Thai medicine and Thai massage where travelers can even book a massage appointment here for the unique experience.

Speaking of attractions, the temple is also included in most city parts with temple tours of the capital, where the tourist can visit frequently in a group for other Bangkok temples such as Wat Arun, Wat Traimit ( temple of solid gold Buddha statue), the Gem Gallery, and Chinatown, among others within a half-day.
