Pernem Kul Mundkar Sangharsh Samiti (KMSS) has raised questions on NGT’s decision to allow work of Mopa airport. They have asked about the steps taken to rehabilitate 4500 families who will be displaced due to the project.

Speaking to the reporters, members of KMSS said that the NGT has given green signal for the construction of Aiport at Mopa saying that it is in the interest of the public. “In an area of 90 lakh sq mtr there are 4500 families who will be displaced due to this project. Now, we want to ask the government and the NGT, what about the interest of the people living in this area?  Is the government and NGT not bothered about the future of these families?” said the members of the samiti.

The KMSS members further said that the government should give a fair compensation to these 4500 families and help in their rehabilitation.
