RESCUE OPERATION AT SANVORDEM SLOWS DOWN, MOVING TOWARDS FINAL LEG

Sanvordem (Goa): The search and rescue operation which is going to complete 24 hours today has been slowed with the Indian Navy and Drishti Lifesaving services withdrawing its divers.

The death toll in the bridge collapse has reached two and fortunately no more dead bodies are found in the river. “The Indian Navy and Drishti Lifesaving Services has withdrawn their search and rescue operation as there are no bodies lying in the water,” Swapnil Naik, Collector, told TVN.

State government has decided to continue with the search and rescue for some time now as Pune based National Disaster Response Force  has already arrived.

Naik said that the withdrawal of the operation would depend upon the advice of the NDRF.
