Margao (Goa): Resignation of the Vice Chairperson of MMC Dorris Texeira has been accepted by the Directorate of Municipal administration on Friday. This has created a vacancy for the post of the Vice in the MMC.

The Vice Chairperson of MMC who is now former VCP has now officially stepped down from her throne and has opened a spot for new VCP for the MMC. It was unclear till Friday on who may be the choice but internal sources told that the Councillor Tito Cardozo may be the next VCP of the MMC.

With that the rule of the Digamber Kamat has gone to sunset with his Model Margao having only 6 out of 25 Councillors in MMC. Digamber earlier has said that he has never had the MMC in the past but has been in control of it for nearly 12 to 15 years.

Tito Cardozo is from Vijai Sardesais’ Fatorda Forward Panel and has a strong base as far as Civic politics is concerned. It will be interesting to see how the MMC will function with the new bound equation of men who were of opposing ideas till end of 2016 in the MMC.
