Panaji (Goa) Adv. Aires Rodrigues has been informed by Mr. Bhushan Savaikar the Under Secretary to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that the file notings and correspondence pertaining to the Cabinet Advisory Committee which was constituted last month is unavailable in the office of the Chief Minister. Mr. Bhushan Savaikar has in his letter to Adv. Rodrigues stated that as the information sought is not available it cannot be furnished.
Through an application made to the Office of the Chief Secretary on 6th March under the Right to Information Act, Adv Rodrigues had sought a copy of the entire file notings and correspondence leading to the setting up of the Cabinet Advisory Committee constituted to run the Government in Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s absence.
Adv. Rodrigues had also sought a copy of the Order or Notification or document by which the Cabinet Advisory Committee was constituted and the nature of tasks and jurisdiction of the Committee.
Adv. Rodrigues had further sought a copy of the leave application submitted by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar along with a copy of the file notings and correspondence processing the leave application.
The Office of the Chief Secretary transferred Adv. Rodrigues’s RTI Application to the General Administration Department which in turned forwarded the application to the Office of the Chief Minister.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today accused the Chief Minister’s office of very malafiedly concealing the information sought under the Right to Information Act to prevent the illegal and unconstitutional Cabinet Advisory Committee from being challenged in the Court of law.
