TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday praised CM Manohar Parrikar for building infrastructure like bridges and compared him to Jesus Christ. 

Mentioning a phrase from the Holy Bible, Sardesai said that Jesus built bridges not walls, and Manohar Parrikar is the man who is building bridges. 

“In the Bible, there is a saying, which says a man should build bridges and not walls. Jesus built bridges not walls. You need to build bridges. Manohar Parrikar is a person who builds bridges,” Sardesai said.

The TCP Minister made this statement during a congratulatory motion moved by BJP MLA Rajesh Patnekar during the ongoing Budget session of the state State Assembly, to congratulate Parrikar for the construction of new cable-stayed Mandovi bridge ‘Atal Setu’, which was inaugurated on January 27.
