Sanguem (Goa): Shiv Sena in Goa has lodged their protest before Panchayat Director over illegally charged fee for the tourists who visit Netravali waterfall. Sena delegation led by its leaders including Jitesh Kamat and state spokesman Rakhi Naik meet Panchayat director on Friday with a memorandum seeking to stay this illegal collection. During their interaction with the director, Naik said that the double fee is charged by panchayat and forest department in this area for the people who arrive here. The area has two waterfalls, which are known for attracting crowd during monsoon. Naik said that the panchayat has been collecting the fee from people illegally. The fee is charged in the name of parking and garbage collection. Panchayat director Kamat reportedly told the delegation that local panchayat had approved them with the request to collect the fee, but their plea is yet to be sanctioned. The director reportedly has admitted that the fee collected is illegal. Sena has been raising the issue right from beginning against the fee collection which is affecting the lower middle class tourists visiting here with their families and friends.
