Porvorim (Goa): After a disappointing performance of HSSC students, Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has something to cheer about. The SSC results have shown an impressive jump recording the highest ever 91.57 pass percentage.
In the results announced today, a total of 18, 777 candidates had registered for the SSC Examination under whole category, of which 18, 776 appeared and 17, 193 passed, giving an overall 91.57 pass percentage. While, 581 candidates registered and appeared for the examination under exempted category, of which 232 passed giving pass percentage of 39.93 percent.
Board Chairman Jose Remedios Rebello told reporters that the result is the record breaking,surpassing the last academic year’s 90.93 pass percentage
As the annual trend goes, this year too saw girls overpowering the boys. As per the data shared with the journalists, 91.18 percent boys passed the exams while a little higher 91.94 percent comprised of girls.
The State also saw 184 children with special need answering the SSC exams out of which 161 cleared, giving 87.50 pass percent.
Out of the total pass outs, 202 students out of 1762 passed taking advantage of National Skills Qualification Framework benefit whereas 410 students passed through sports marks. A total of 8246 students had availed the sports marks.
