Diljeet Velingker, Noel Noronha, Rutuj Sonawane and Nagesh Verenker have moved into the Men’s singles semi-finals, at the State Table Tennis championship 2018 organised by Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa.
In the Quarterfinals matches played at Club Vasco Da Gama Hall premises, Noel Noronha defeated Anshuman Agarwal in a tough match which went down to the wire. Noel won 4-3 (9-11, 3-11, 11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 11-6, 11-3), playing exceptionally well in the decider. Rutuj Sonawane registered a comfortable 4-0 (11-1, 11-6, 15-13, 13-11) win over Nathan Barua and will be up against Noel in the semifinals. Diljeet Velingker was given a tough fight by Kewal Tamhankar before prevailing to a 4 – 2 (11-9, 11-8, 12-14, 11-2, 9-11, 11-7) win over his opponent. Nagesh Vereker blanked out Tanmay Kundu 4-0 (11-9, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7) to set up a semi-finals clash with Diljeet. Following are the results:
