Porvorim (Goa): While the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will decide on the curtailing of the assembly session, PWD Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar is appointed to lead the House during the three days of the Budget session of the Legislative Assembly.
BJP’s party head Vinay Tendulkar said the coalition partners have accepted the decision. “Sudin Dhavalikar is the leader of the House. The coalition has accepted this,” he said.
The month-long assembly session, that began today, is being curtailed to 3-4 days considering that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital Mumbai for pancreas.
Sudin will thus present the Budget. Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo said that the Budget would only be tabled and not read out. While there is no official announcement about Sudin presenting the Budget, Speaker Pramod Sawant had last night submitted a letter signed by CM Parrikar authorising Sudin to present the Budget. The Budget earlier scheduled on February 22 will be presented on February 20.
