After constant demand by Konkani activists, the Goa Government has appointed Suresh Gundu Amonkar as the president of Goa Konkani Academy.
Amonkar has served as the chairman of Goa Higher Secondary Board and has also been honoured with Padma Shri award in 2009 for his work by the Government of India.
The author is a senior Journalist working in Goa for last one and half decade with the experience of covering wide-scale issues ranging from entertainment to politics and defense.
