Goa’s Tanisha Crasto will be aiming for Gold at the 43rd Junior Nationals Badminton championships at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Tanisha Crasto along with her partner Aditi Bhatt put up a scintillating performance to storm into the U19 Girls Doubles finals.
In the semi-finals played at B.B.D. Uttar Pradesh Badminton Academy, they registered an upset 21-14, 17-21, 21-10 three sets win over top seeds Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker. Tanisha and Aditi are seeded fifth in this championship. In the finals, they will face the challenge of local favourites and third seeds, Shruti Mishra and Samridhi Singh from Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, the sublime run of Tanisha and her partner Ishaan Bhatnagar from Chhattisgarh came to an end as they went down fighting to third seeds Sai Pratheek Krishna Prasad and Ashwini Bhat K in the semifinals. After a slow start losing the first set at 6-21, Tanisha and Ishaan played brilliantly to wrap up the second 21-17 before losing the third with the narrowest of margins. They lost 6-21, 21-17, 19-21 to settle for bronze.
