Top seed of the tournament Tanvi Hadkonkar wins Late Shripad Vishnu Tarcar Memorial State Women’s Chess Championship sponsored by Chaitanya Tarcar in the memory of his late father. Tanvi scored 7.5 points from 8 rounds. In the sixth round she defeated AIM Sayuri Naik, seventh round she beat Nandhini and in the final round defeated WCM Gunjal Chopdekar.
WCM Swera Braganca stood 2nd with the score of 7 points. Nandhini Saripalli finished 3rd with 6.5 points while WCM Gunjal Chopdekar stood 4th with 6 points. All these four players will represent National Women Senior Chess Championship.
The tournament was held at Athletic Stadium Cujira Bambolim in aegis with Goa Chess Association, Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association and Sports Authority of Goa. This is the selection tournament for the National Women Senior Chess Championship to be held from 18th to 26th November 2018. Venue is not announced by AICF.
Other Prize Winners from 5th to 10th are Netra Sawaikar , Aishwarya Thorat, Alaina Pereira, Bewrly Mendonca, all of them scored 6 points, AIM Sayuri Naik and Snehal Naik.

Shubhalaxmi Naik ( Chairperson, Goa Women’s Commission) was the chief guest of the function and distributed the prizes in the presence of Kishor Bandekar ( Treasurer AICF & Secretary GCA), Dr Sanjeev Dalvi ( Director of Health Services), Mahesh Candolkar ( vice president GCA & president TTCA), Chaitanya Tarcar, Arvind Mhamal (Chief Arbiter), Dattaram Pinge ( Tournament Co-Ordinator),Sandeep Heble ( Tournament Director), Tanay Kaisary, Balakrishnan V, Sanjay Belurkar and other office bearers of TTCA & GCA.
