THREE ARRESTED FOR DRUGS IN TWO DAYS

Panaji (Goa): A total of three persons including a Goan have been arrested in a span of two days for allegedly trafficking drugs in the northern coastal belt. On Wednesday

 

, the team of Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) have arrested Calangute resident Noel Menino D’Souza, aged 54 years for possessing 16 gms of suspected MDMA, worth around Rs 80,000. The raid was conducted at popular tourist hot spot Calangute during the late evening hours. 

On Thursday, the team arrested two others from Karnataka for being in possession of 7.02 kg of ganja, value of which is estimated at Rs 7 lakh. Noorul Ayeen Sayed (28) from Kundapur and Mohammad Asim (27) from Bhatkal, along with the local are remanded to police custody undergoing custodial interrogation. The second raid was conducted at Anjuna, another tourist hub which is popular among international tourists. 
The police are investigating the source of drugs and persons who they intended to supply the banned substance.
