THREE-DAY BUDGET SESSION MERE CONSTITUTIONAL OBLIGATION: CHODANKAR

PANAJI

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar, on Tuesday, told reporters that the government was just completing a constitutional obligation of convening the House every six months by convening a three-day Budget Session.

“The three day Assembly session is being convened only to fulfil a constitutional obligation and not democratic values,” Chodankar said.

Opposition leader and Congress MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar on Tuesday said that they were getting hints that the BJP was planning to dissolve the state Assembly.

“The current situation is hinting that the BJP is trying to dissolve the state Assembly and impose President’s Rule. In the year 2002, neither ruling MLAs nor cabinet ministers were informed by Parrikar that the House was going to be dissolved,” Kavlekar said in a press conference on Tuesday.
