PORVORIM (GOA): To mark the occasion of Goa Revolution Day on June 18, Vidya Enclave Residents’ Association (VERA) organised a tree plantation programme at their premises in Porvorim. Minister of Rural Development Jayesh Salgaonkar planted trees in the presence of newly elected panch member of Reis Magos Panchayat along with newly formed VERA committee members with their families.
In his address Salgaonkar appreciated the formation of VERA association and its purpose. He promised to provide the residents necessary help in all their upcoming initiatives.
VERA’s president KVS Krishna Kumar welcomed the gathering. Secretary Harshraj Chati highlighted the activities taken up by the association.
The plants and saplings were provided by Goa Forest and Goa Horticulture Department. Children from VERA participated enthusiastically in the programme. Yatindra Maralkar, Krishna Kumar of Vidya Enclave and Shabbir Shaikh took efforts in making this event a success.
