TWO DAY LONG HOMOEPATHIC CONGRESS OF HMAI CONCLUDES IN GOA

Panaji (Goa) Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Shripad Naik has said Homoeopathy being most efficacious and cost effective treatment of medicine, Government is committed for its further propagation as a matter of policy. He said, in India, it is used as one of the most preferred systems, be it for the day-to-day illness, or chronic ailments.

 

Delivering his valedictory address at the 20th National Homeopathic Congress of HMAI at Margaon in South Goa today Mr. Naik said, so far, we have about 200 colleges, more than 8000 clinics in public sector, almost 300 thousand registered practitioners; Focus of AYUSH Ministry is to improve the standard of education in these colleges. Periodical inspections, reviews and interaction with college authorities are aimed at educating and motivating them to improve their infrastructure. He said High quality education is necessary to place Indian Homoeopathy at International level and added, HAMI can contribute in improving the quality of education by helping the government. The Union Minister said, HMAI can keep a close watch the quality of education being imparted in the institutions and can inform the Government on any corruption noticed in admissions, granting recognition and in examinations.

 

The Union Minister further said, during last three years, AYUSH Ministry has taken unique initiatives for the residents integration of Homoeopathy and it’s physicians in a National Programme for the prevention of Cardiovascular diseases, Diabetes, Cancer and Stroke, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, Mother and Child Healthcare etc. and said the Union Government is keen to utilize the services of doctors in providing primary health care in upcoming wellness centers.

 

He said, other new initiatives include according special awards to meritorious doctors contributing significantly in patient care, teaching and research. These awards will be distributed every year on 10th April, the World Homoeopathic Day.

 

Emphasizing that the Union Government is giving all out support for undertaking world class research in Homoeopathy, the Union Minister said, CCRH under the Ministry of AYUSH has gained prominence both nationally and internationally. He said, the Government has signed MoUs with reputed organizations in UK, USA, Argentina, Canada, Armenia, Mexico, Germany and Brazil. The aim of which is to encourage joint research projects, exchange of information, documentation and publications, joint conferences and exchange of experts for training of practitioners, scientists, teaching professionals and students.

 

Commending the contribution of Homoeopathy in controlling endemics of cholera and viral infections Mr. Naik said, in the changing world scenario where new strains of organisms are creating havoc, homoeopathic profession can contribute in this very important area and help the Government in the management of epidemics, Such as Dengue, Chikangunya, Malaria and Swine flu. We should develop indigenous technologies and drugs that are scientific, efficacious and cost effective to tackle these diseases, He added.

 

Eminent Homoeopaths all over the country participated and guided the deliberations at the two day conference.
