Vasco (Goa): Two minor boys who had gone to play in the rainwater died after drowning in a stone quarry at Zuarinagar slum area near Vasco today.

Police said that two boys Rohit Pandey (8) and Sameer Malbaari (12) who were part of the group which were playing in the rains fell in the stone quarry which was filled with water.

 “When other boys raised alarm, the locals brought both the boys out but they were declared dead upon arrival at Chicalim Cottage hospital,” police said.

 The locals suspect that there might be few more boys who have drowned in the quarry due to which Fire and Emergency Services were summoned and search is on, police said.
