Town and country planning minister Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday revealed his plans to construct an independent theatre for Konkani films within the Ravindra Bhavan complex in Margao.
“There’s a demand from Konkani filmmakers and to have a separate Konkani theatre,” Sardesai said. “As Konkani cinema is growing, we are planning to have an exclusive theatre for Konkani film screenings.”
Sardesai was speaking to reporters after an inspection of Ravindra Bhavan by officials of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC).
