VINOD PALYEKAR’S CAR CAUGHT VIOLATING TRAFFIC RULES, AIRES CATCHES, MINISTER ASKS TO ISSUE CHALLAN

Panaji (Goa): The official car of state water resources department minister Vinod Palyekar was issued challan by State Transport department when it was caught overtaking  another vehicle on Mandovi bridge.

“An incident happened in Goa while I am on an official visit out of the state. My official vehicle driven by my driver was found overtaking another vehicle on Mandovi bridge in Panaji,” Palyekar said in his facebook post.

“As servants of public of our beautiful goa, it should be our priority to lead by an example. On knowing about this incident I have personally spoken to concerned officials in directorate of transport and instructed them to act according to law as such incidents in future should not happen,” he said.

The minister confirmed that his driver has paid Rs 600 as a fine.

The incident of state government car overtaking another vehicle on Mandovi bridge was captured on camera by a fellow traveler.

Social activist Aires Rodrigues  uploaded the video of the speeding car on social media and also spoke to superintendent of police (traffic) Devesh Kumar Mahala complaining about the incident.
