VISHWAJIT BANS HEALTH DEPT OFFICERS’ TRAVEL WITHOUT GOVT APPROVAL

Panaji (Goa): It’s time for the real work in state health department. Health minister Vishwajit Rane who is on the mission mode to improve health care sector has imposed ban on the  officers to leave the state without prior permission of the government.

The department has been scrutinizing the travel plans of the officers before allowing them. This is required to ensure that officers are available during the meeting held to review the functioning of health sector.

“All the officers who are travelling outside the state will have to take prior approval from the department,” Rane said.

“The post facto approval will not be granted,” he added.

The health department has been holding review of directorate of health services and other institutions like Goa medical college and hospital, Goa dental college, Institute of Psychiatry and human behaviour and others.

The minister has also paid surprise visit to these institutions during which various lapses were noticed.

The state government is very serious about concentrating on the health sector. Chief minister Manohar Parrikar is personally supervising every activity of the department.
