VOTING CROSSES 50 PER CENT MARK BY NOON

Panaji (Goa): Notwithstanding rains, the voters have began turning out in a large number for voting for ongoing panchayat polls. It is reported that around 50 per cent of the voters have voted by noon, rising the possibility of making it highest voted polls.

The voting began at moderate pace in the morning with no much queues seen infront of the polling stations. The pace of voting was affected due to sudden rains in many parts of the State.

But the people who were eager to exercise their franchise turned out in large number by afternoon. The state election commission figures revealed that by 11 a.m, more than 45 per cent people had voted. The voting percentage went up by noon, acrossing 50 per cent mark.
