VOTING WITNESS SHARP RISE COMPARED TO FEB 2017 ELECTION; CEO

PANAJI (Goa) Though the ongoing by election in Panaji and Valpoi Assembly constituency is witnessing a moderate turnout till now, the record indicates that the polling pattern is at slightly higher side compared to the general assembly election held in February 2017.

As per the information provided by Chief Electoral Office, till 2pm the voting recorded in panaji is 48.53 percent and in Valpoi it is 54.85 percent.

The polling had commenced at 8.00am across 76 polling booths.

The polling pattern in these two constituencies indicate a sharp rise compared to last election.

In the last election, for the first six hours Panaji had recorded 48.53 percent turnout while Valpoi had witnessed 54.85 percent.

The final voter count is expected latest by 6.00pm.
