Meet Lakshya Singh, finalist of Rubaru Mr India 2019, the person who just like his name has set an aim to win the prestigious title and wants to be an inspiration to those who give-up on their dreams.

TNV: When and how did you begin modelling? Were you studying or working before then?

LS: I was thinking on entering into this field for quite some time but didn’t know from where to start. Then I entered into it by participating in Mr. MP last year in which I ended up qualifying in top 10 and winning a subtitle.  This motivated me to take this seriously. At that time, I was already working in ICICI Bank.

TNV:  Why modelling when you could have settled in for a more stable permanent career?

LS: Right now also I have a very stable career in banking field. But to be honest this 9 to 6 job doesn’t excite me at all. Modelling is what excites me as this is a very challenging and fast growing field plus I want to be the inspiration to those people who give up on their dreams after entering into the jobs due to financial responsibility.

TNV: Tell me about your first assignment. If any how did it hapoen? What was the experience like?

LS: After Mr MP, I did get some offers but unfortunately I couldn’t be the part of any. Rubaru Mr India was in my mind and I was preparing for it. At that time only I decided not to work on any assignment as I wanted to focus fully on my preparations for Rubaru Mr India plus I want to participate as a fresh face. So I am waiting for my first assignment to happen.

TNV: What do you feel makes you a good model? your face ? Your body? Your attitude? As opposed to others?

LS: Attitude takes you to the altitude. So I think my attitude of never giving up and attitude of humbleness towards everybody irrespective of their positions makes me a good model. Face and body obviously will give some plus points.

TNV:  Why Rubaru Mr India when there are so many local paegents happen?

LS: Rubaru Mr India is one of the biggest and well known pageants of India. It is the only pageant which also raises awareness and works in the field of saving a girl child. It gives all its winners and runner-ups the equal opportunity to represent your nation at international level. No other pageant in India is providing so much of opportunities.

TNV: Did Mr India happen to you along the way or were you preparing to take part in the pageant?

LS: It was in my mind since sometime to participate in Rubaru Mr India but didn’t have that courage and confidence. This year I was following every update and also preparing for it.

TNV: Tell us about how you train for it. What is the regimen like? What are the challenges involved?

LS: First challenge was to keep myself in the best shape possible because of my job. After working  from 9 to 6, I got fully exhausted mentally as well as physically. I work out twice in a day : cardio in morning and weight training in night. Another challenge was to eat clean as I stay away from my family. I used to prepare each and every meal of the day on daily basis. Then I also joined personality development classes to further improve my pronunciation and to boost my self confidence. In other words it’s a continuous effort from morning 6 to midnight 12 on daily basis.

TNV:  What makes you feel you should be the choosen one? What’s different about you as a contestant?

LS: I think I should be the chosen one because people can connect with me very easily. I want people to look at me and say if he can do it, anybody can do it. Apart from this I am a very hard working , fearless person  with  good IQ and ability to influence others. These qualities could give me edge over others.

TNV: How will winning the Mr India pageant will go to affect your life?

LS: Winning the Mr India title will change my life in a very positive way. It will give me a platform where I could interact and inspire more and more people. It will also give me an opportunity to represent my nation at the international level and nothing can be greater than representing your nation.

TNV: What are your views about Save Girl Child campaign?

LS: Behind every man, there is always a woman. It is difficult for all of us to survive without women. They take care of all the things in most beautiful way which we can’t. Rubaru Mr India will give me a platform from where I can interact with more and more people and will create the awareness among the people about the importance of women in our lives. Thus, it is very important to save the girl child to save the nation as well as to save this planet.
