The Goa Congress today criticised the BJP-led coalition government’s decision to host Carnaval festivities amid the increasing tensions between India and Pakistan and the capture of Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman.

“At a time when our country is facing crisis, and our IAF pilot is in Pakistan’s custody, why is the Goa government granting permission for events like the Carnaval and wine festival,” Goa Congress president Girish Chodankar questioned.

Goa is due to host Carnaval festivities from coming weekend.
