PUNE: Officials of Khed police station have cracked the murder case of one Yogesh Thakur, an employee of Tata Capital Finance, whose dead body was found partially burnt in Khed on June 4.
The police have arrested Thakur’s friend Nitin Thite (25) from Shirur in connection with the case. As per the information given by Khed police, Yogesh was working for the company in Chakan, and there he had met Thite about 18 months ago.
Police said that Thakur had lent some money to Thite which he was unable to return. Thakur was bothering Thite for the money. On June 3, Thite called Thakur for dinner where they fought over money. Later Thite called Thakur in his car and strangulated him. After Thakur died, Thite took the dead body to an open ground in Jerwadi and doused it with petrol before setting it on fire.
On June 4, when police found the dead body they started the investigation. The body was identified by Thakur’s family when they had reached to file a missing complaint of Thakur. The accused was produced in court and sent to police custody till July 12. The investigation team included police inspector Daya Gavde and assitant police inspector S Jagtap.
