Panaji (Goa) Delay in notifying the rules under Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), has forced Goa government to grant further extension to the builders to register their projects with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority by December 31.

This is the second extension granted by the Government.

As per the central government act, which got rolled out on May 1, all the developers, projects and agents had to get themselves registered with the authority by July 31.

However Goa failed to notify the rules and was forced to grant first extension till October 31.

“The Government has extended the date for acceptance of application from registration of ongoing Real Estate Projects under Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) up to December 31, 2017, without levy of Penalty,” government said in a press statement issued.

Any unregistered project would be deemed to be unauthorized by the regulator.
